Saskatoon is commonly called “The City of Bridges”. Since the city is divided east and west by the South Saskatchewan River, Saskatoon has seven water crossings allowing traffic to flow back and forth. The first such bridge to allow vehicular traffic across the river was the Victoria Bridge.
